Remember the Lord in all you do, and He will give you success.
Proverbs 3:6 NIV

Daily Bible Reading:
Proverbs 1-4, 1 Thessalonians 2

Cartoonist, Walt Kelly, once pictured his character, Pogo, fishing, when a duck asks him, “Have you seen my cousin? He’s migrating north by kiddy car.” Pogo exclaims, “By kiddy car?” “Yep,” says the duck, “He’s afraid to fly in case he falls into the water.” Pogo says, “Why doesn’t he swim?” The duck responds, “He gets seasick.” Pogo replies, “When your cousin decided to be a duck, he chose the wrong business!”

Blessed is the duck that walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and does what ducks are supposed to do. Only then will he succeed! Want to be successful? Follow these guidelines, based on S.E.C.R.E.T.S.

(a) Sense of purpose: Write down your goals and review them regularly. Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek [focused]: for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). (b) Excellence: Need a standard to reach for? “Work… as if… for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23 NCV). (c) Contribution: “God is fair; He will not forget the work you did [for others]” (Hebrews 6:10 NCV). (d) Responsibility: Take responsibility for your actions. “A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful” (Proverbs 28:13 TLB). (e) Effort: Without hard work, success is impossible. “Diligence brings wealth” (Proverbs 10:4 TM). (f) Time management: Time is the one thing you can’t get more of. Listen, “Teach us to live wisely and well” (Psalm 90:12 TM). (g) Stick with it: “We will receive our harvest… if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9 NCV). There’s the formula – now put it to work!
